Sounds like fun!

It had been over a week since Kraspen's near death at the claws and teeth of the wampas.  Other than a concussion,  a pair of bruised ribs and ego, Kraspen  had come away from the experience mostly unscathed. Maligaant couldn't help but feel that this would make him an even better scout, for the squad, than he already was.  "Experience is the best teacher" he mumbled to himself as he continued to look over the condition report for his squad.

"Approaching the planet sir!" Rerick's voice crackled over the coms.

After the incident with the wampas, he'd asked for, and been granted, some personal time for  him and his squad.

Rerick had been talking to him about a little known planet in the outer rim. One of his contacts had told  him of an interesting legend about an island in the planet's ocean.  The creatures on this island were enormous and beyond dangerous, according to the legend.  The people on the planet had long ago stopped going to the island as most never returned and those who did so were often never the same.

"Sounds like fun!" had been the response from his entire squad when he'd mentioned the idea of taking some time off together and looking into the legend.

Placing a paw on Rerick's shoulder as he stood behind him in the cockpit, Rerick looked up and over his shoulder at him, "Scanners aren't picking up anything sir. Seems my contact was understating the effect of the materials in the planet's bedrock."

A toothy grin formed across Mal's face as he responded, "I like it! This is gonna be fun. A real adventure with no reliance on fancy tech.  Bring us in over the lights of that large city there." he said, pointing.

"No problem.  Hope their as friendly as I was told." Rerick quipped back.
