The Arrival
Exhilarating, to see the Capitol Planet of the Triumvirate outside the cockpit window. Maligaant stood inside the cockpit mesmerized by the visual as the planet grew larger every moment. Peeking out from just behind Pesmenben III, the system's sun seemed to be illuminating a full third of the planet.
"ATTENTION! Unidentified craft! Hold position and DO NOT enter orbit! You do not have clearance to approach." the words rang out through the ships com system.
Jarvis nearly jumped out of his seat from shock. Slamming his hand down on the com switch he began to respond "I don't understand..." and was cut off.
"We repeat Hold Position! " the very authoritative voice boomed through the cockpit.
"Okay, okay. We're holding position." Jarvis responded as he pulled back on the throttle controls and brought the ship to a stop.
A large Mon Calamari Star Cruiser began moving between the Bucket of Bolts and the Planet. Darkness enveloped the ship as the Cruiser's size and closeness literally blocked out the light coming from the system's star. Maligaant's arms shot out to brace myself on the cockpit's navigational computers, an instinctive reaction.
Jarvis glanced over at him and said, "It's not my fault, Mal. I really don't know what the problem is. I was here a few months ago and there were no problems." Just then, outside the cockpit window something flew past so quickly it was just a blur of metal and color. "What tha!" Jarvis reacted, obviously caught off guard as he glanced down at the controls, trying to get a better picture of what was taking place.
"Just some A-Wings" Jarvis' voice was a little shaky, "Nothing to be concerned about ... probably our escort."
Maligaant held his place in the cockpit, a spectator, unsure if there was anything he could do and trying to stay out of the way.
The ship lurched and began moving.
"Whoah! Okay Mal ... um ... it appears they intend to board us. I recommend you get your data pad with your travel docs. Everything is gonna be okay ... trust me." Jarvis looked at him as he spoke bringing his hand up to run it through his hair, eyes widening.
Maligaant wasn't sure if it was the look on Jarvis' face or the hesitation in his voice but his words didn't calm the apprehension he was feeling. Turning immediately he headed for his quarters.
The data pad was right were he'd left it, grabbing it Maligaant tapped on it's view screen and brought up his travel and identification documents.
