Surprise!

Mal had been out of the rejuvenation tank for a few days now.  The hospital staff had moved him to a standard medical recovery room with daily visits from his squad.

A familiar cough in the doorway alerted him to a new visitor.  Looking up he was treated to a sight most welcome to his eyes, Lilly.

They had met back in Year 17 when she was stationed on Togoria.  A human female as dangerous and deadly as any Togorian he'd ever known. She was a Special Operations officer for the Triumvirate and though her assignments often kept them out of touch he was always surprised at the many times she would get word to him one way or another.

"Well well and here I thought I'd never find you lazying about," she said with a smile as she walked towards him. "From what I am told you very nearly had your ticket punched."

Growling he waved a paw at her and said, "Exaggerations and lies! Who have you been talking to?"

"Yeah, you're right. That Toby is too attached to you I think." she winked as she batted his paw.  She looked into his eyes and just sighed. "So, have they talked about when you can get out of here yet? You know if you don't press them they'll keep you in here forever." leaning in closer she added, "I heard Shane talking to one of the nurses about putting up some holo-pics of ships in hyperspace." she said with a wink.

He coughed as he laughed causing him to grimace a bit, "Oh don't make me laugh," he coughed and grimaced some more as he laughed, "please you're worse than Rerrick."

Leaning in she touched her forehead to his as they both closed their eyes.  Everything slowed for a moment and he was at peace. Opening his eyes he said, "What took you so long?"

Hopping off the bed she ruffled his mane as she turned and headed for the door, "Wish I could stay and chit chat some more with your lazy butt, but I have to check in big guy! I'll be back soon" and with that, she was out the door and gone. Mal smiled a big toothy grin.
