Festival of the Hunt: Day 6 - Amazing Discovery
Positioning himself into the snowbank and grabbing his micro binoculars, Mal was about to begin scanning for their prey when the glint of something on his right caught his eye. He turned to see what it was but was blinded by the reflection. Whatever it was it had a shiny surface and was reflecting the morning sun. He placed the micros on the snowbank and remaining crouched he moved toward it reaching for it with an outstretched paw, as he drew close. Whatever it was it was mostly covered by snow and ice. Brushing the snow away an eye was staring back at him. He nearly jumped in shock!
It took only a minute to free the object from it's icy prison. It was a silver locket and chain that had been crafted to appear as if an eye was peering out from the torn metal. There was something almost hypnotic about the item, as the eye appeared to move and blink! It was most certainly not alive this was some kind of trick. How long had it been lost here in these frozen wastes? Maligaant knew he was going to have to make some inquiries into it's origins.
"Movement detected on our sensors sir!" Vash's voice shot into his helmet. He quickly tucked the pendant into his coat's chest pocket and, staying low, returned to his previous position. He picked his mirco's back up from the snow where he had left them and began to to examine their targets emerging from the distant mist filled snow drifts. More outlaws and walking right into the trap he had set. He pulled his DLT-20a up (checking that it was set for stun) and cradled it's stock with his shoulder as the lead bandit's throat entered his scope. "No Pacts!" he exclaimed into his helmet as he opened fire.
